Fulbright Scholarship for Teachers

INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION PROGRAM (ILEP) 

The International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and is implemented by IREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board), a Washington, DC based non-profit organization.
ILEP will consist of a semester-long academic program at a U.S. university, including coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, teaching strategies for their home environment, teacher leadership, as well as the use of computers for internet, word processing and as tools for teaching. The semester-long program, which will commence in January 2010 and conclude in May 2010, will also include an internship at a secondary school to engage participants actively with the American teachers and students.

The Fellowship provides:
  • J-1 visa support
  • A pre-departure orientation held in Indonesia
  • Round-trip airfare to and within the U.S.
  • A Welcome Orientation in Washington, DC
  • Academic program fees
  • Housing (generally shared with other program fellows)
  • Accident and sickness insurance
  • A daily allowance for meals and incidentals during the university academic program
  • A laptop computer
  • A $200 book/professional development allowance
  • A Closing Seminar in Washington, DC
  • A $100 excess bagage/shipping allowance (international)
  • A $80 checked bagage allowance (domestic)
  • The opportunity to apply for collaborrative grants with U.S. colleagues
Eligible applicants must:
  • Be secondary-level, full-time teachers with five or more years of classroom experience in disciplines including: English as a Foreign Language, Social Studies, Civics, Mathematics or Sciences.
  • Be citizen of Indonesia
  • Be proficient in written and spoken English with a minimum institutional TOEFL score of 500 or higher or IELTS 5.0
HOW TO APPLY:

Candidates should complete the appropriate application forms. Forms are available either by mail at infofulbright_ind@aminef.or.id or in person at the AMINEF Office, Gedung Balai Pustaka, 6th floor, Jl. Gunung Sahari Raya 4, Jakarta 10720.

Applicant must submit the original application and four complete copies (for a total of five (5) copies). Each copy of the application should be submitted in the following order:
  1. Application
  2. Curriculum Vitae (see sample format in the download form)
  3. Statement of Purpose
  4. Completed recommendation form and letter as well as completed institution support form, and
  5. A copy of your ID card (KTP or passport)
Note: Each complete application should look identical and be stapled. No other form of binding is permitted.

PANASONIC SCHOLARSHIP 2010

Eligibility:
A privately financed student from Indonesia, who wishes to pursue a master’s course in Japan, should meet the following requirements:
  1. Nationality:
    Applicants must be citizens of Indonesia

  2. Educational Background etc:
    Applicants must be graduates or pending graduates of universities and have a distinguished academic record and must have completed 16 years of school education or have been accepted as eligible for enrollment at the targeted graduate schools. However, applicants must have completed their bachelor degrees no more than 4 years prior to the date of their arrival in Japan. (with age less than 26 years old in March 2011).

  3. Specialization:
    Applicants must major in any one of the science and technology disciplines. (Mathematics, Natural Science, Engineering, Bio-technology, Agricultural, and IT (Information Technology)
    Note: This excludes medical science, pharmacology and dentistry

  4. Japanese Language Proficiency:
    Applicants must have adequate proficiency and knowledge in the Japanese language not only for studying at master’s level but also for understanding Japanese culture.

  5. Health Conditions:
    Applicants must be medically fit and must be strongly motivated to study in Japan.

  6. Others:
    • Applicants must be interested in and have the desire to contribute to the development of Indonesia and to promote friendship between Indonesia and Japan. .
    • Applicants must obtain a study visa and arrive in Japan by end of March 2011 to attend the award ceremony to be held at Panasonic Headquarters at the beginning of April 2011.
    • Applicants who are receiving or will receive other scholarships including Japanese Government Scholarships are not eligible for the Panasonic Scholarship.
    • Applicants who are already enrolled at graduate schools in Japan at the time of application are not eligible for the Panasonic Scholarship.
All candidates must apply through (and only by) electronics application (please find the e-application HERE). This first selection will seek a record of the applicants overall data including: biographical information, academic records (GPA), language capabilities, and readiness to enroll master degree program in Japan.

The e-application submission will be closed on MARCH 10th, 2010 . In Phase I, 100 (hundreds) applicants will be selected as semifinalist and their names will be announced in MARCH 15th  2010 . via e-mail and website.

MASTER DEGREE PROGRAMMES AND SHORT COURSES from StuNed


StuNed for Master Degree Programmes 

Main requirements to apply:

  • be an Indonesian national;
  • have earned a S1 or Bachelor's degree or its equivalent at a recognized university in Indonesia; be able to provide evidence of the academic achievements (minimum G.P.A. score 2.75):
  • relevant work experience for at least two years;
  • have an academic or professional background that is related to the subject of the course;
  • be full time available for the entire period of the study programme or course and be able to participate in and complete all courses;
  • TOEFL Computer based 213, or ITP 550, IELTS 6)
  • be admitted to one of the courses or programmes offered by Institutes of Higher Education in the Netherlands for the academic year 2010;
  • no age limit, but priority will be given to mid-career professionals.
Eligible study programmes
All master courses in http://www.studyinholland.nl with a duration of less then two years, and with a clear relation to the objectives of the StuNed programme.

StuNed for Short Courses
 
Main requirements to apply:
  • be an Indonesian national
  • have earned a S1 or Bachelor's degree or its equivalent at a recognized university in Indonesia; be able to provide evidence of the academic achievements (minimum GPA score 2.75)
  • relevant work experience for at least two years
  • have an academic or professional background that is related to the subject of the course;
  • be full time available for the entire period of the study programme or course and be able to participate in and complete all courses
  • have a high level of English proficiency, TOEFL 520
  • be admitted to one of the courses or programmes offered by Institutes of Higher Education in the Netherlands for the academic year 2010
  • no age limit, but priority will be given to the mid-career professional

Eligible study programmes
All short courses with a duration of more than 6 weeks and less then 6 months with a clear relation to the objectives of the StuNed programme.

Deadline:
For courses starting between 1 July – 31 December 2010, the deadline is 1 March 2010    
For courses starting between 1 January – 31 June 2011 the deadline is 1 October 2011
