2016 Art Major Asian Scholarship in Seoul, South Korea

1.  Objective

  The objective of the Art Major Asian (AMA) Scholarship Program is to provide Asian students with artistic talent to conduct advanced studies and ability in Korea National University of Arts in order to promote international exchanges in education and mutual friendship between the countries. 


2.  Scholarship Benefits
                    
∙ Airfare : The grantees will receive an airplane ticket or be paid an economy class airfare of the shortest route between their country and Korea when they come to Korea, and, thereafter, when they leave Korea after completion of their study
∙ Monthly Allowance : 700,000won(KRW) per month
∙ Korean Language Training Fee : Full coverage
∙ Tuitions : Full coverage(Summer/Winter school program does not apply) 
∙ Medical Insurance : Limited coverage
∙ Housing : The dormitory fee will be deducted out of the monthly allowance


3.  Application and Selection Schedule (The schedule can be further changed)

5.  Qualification

(1) Only those who hold a citizenship of the countries below are eligible for the program.

(2) Have graduated or be scheduled to graduate from a high school(university) by 29th Feb, 2016
  * Applicants who apply for the master’s program must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher
     than a Bachelor’s degree.
  ** Applicants who are expecting to graduate by 29th Feb, 2016 must submit a certificate of graduation expectation when you apply, and submit the official certificate of graduation(degree or diploma) to Karts by 1st March, 2016
(3) Have adequate health, both physically and mentally
(4) Must have no limitations in travelling abroad
(5) Have outstanding artistic talents, gifted skills and an excellent academic record.
(6) Applicant recommended by the government, ministries, and embassies of Korea and each country.
(7) Applicants recommended by the rector of the university graduated or attending, or head of government approved organizations, companies and art related institution etc.

STENDEN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

Stenden University Bali offers two types of scholarships for Indonesian students to study International Hospitality Management (IHM) or International Business Administration (IBA).
 
Educational Opportunity Scholarship:
 
The educational opportunity scholarships are intended for students who cannot afford to continue their study to give them access to higher education. It is a full scholarship which includes all compulsory study related costs counting up to USD 40,000 for 4 years.
 
Scholarship of Excellence:
 
This scholarship is aimed for outstanding students who are achieving excellence in their educational programmes and have significant potential to assume future leadership roles in the hotel industry or other types of organisations. It is a partial scholarship which consists of a discount of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% off the tuition fees only.
 
 
Criteria                                                                           
 
  • Must be an Indonesian citizen.
  • Must be in year 12 or graduated from high school no later than 2012.
  • Educational Opportunity Scholarship: Good students who are in needs of financial help to continue their study.
  • Scholarship of Excellence: Have outstanding study results from high school (above average).
  • Be highly motivated to study IHM or IBA at Stenden University Bali.
 
How to apply
 
  • A completed and signed Application Form.
  • Candidates who are in their year 12 must submit high school transcripts of year 10, 11 and semester 1 of year 12.*
  • Candidates who already graduated from high school must submit complete transcripts of year 10, 11 and 12 and a copy of certified final transcript (UAN or other equivalent final year transcript depending on the school’s curriculum) as well as a copy of certified high school diploma.*
       * The transcripts must showcase study results which are above high school average. Transcripts which are in Indonesian must be translated into English by official translator.
  • IELTS (minimum overall score 6, with no sub scores under 5) or TOEFL iBT (minimum score 79). Candidates who studied for a minimum of 2 years at a high school where English was the language of instruction are not required to submit IELTS or TOEFL test score.
  • Motivation letter of not more than 1000 words which serves as a true representation of the candidate’s motivation and explains: 1) Which scholarship  is the candidate applying for  (Educational Opportunity or Scholarship of Excellence); 2)Why the applicant deserve the scholarship; 3) Applicant’s interest in hospitality or business; 4) Applicant’s goals/career objective; 5) For Educational Opportunity Scholarship: Why the applicant need the scholarship to fund the study.
  • For Educational Opportunity Scholarship: Letter from the local district government (Kelurahan) which states that the applicant is underprivileged (Surat Keterangan Tidak Mampu).
  • For Scholarship of Excellence: Awards of excellence from the school, or certificate which shows academic achievement at the school.
  • Maximum 2 academic references from school
  • Maximum 2 references from a non-academic reference, e.g. company, organisation, etc. The references must be relevant with the chosen programme (hospitality or business management).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English, containing information about study, work and other (relevant) activities.
  • One passport sized (4x6) coloured photo.
  • Copy of KTP or passport

Scholarship value/inclusions:

Endeavour Scholarship recipients will also receive tuition fees paid up to the maximum study/research duration on a pro-rata basis. Tuition includes student service and amenities fees.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to receive an Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must:
•  be aged 18 years or over at the commencement of their programme
•  be a citizen and/or permanent resident of a participating country (see above)
•  commence their proposed programme after 1 January 2016 and no later than 30 November 2016. Applicants who have already commenced or will commence their intended programme prior to 2016 are not eligible to apply
•  provide all relevant supporting documentation
• not currently hold or have completed, since 1 January 2014, an Australian Government sponsored scholarship and/or fellowship (directly administered to recipients by the Australian Government)
•  not apply for a category in which they have already completed an Endeavour Scholarship or Fellowship.
Application instructions:
Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship international applicants must provide either (a) letter of admission for a PhD course at an Australian university for the 2016 academic year or (b) letter of admission/ for a Masters or Graduate Diploma leading into a Masters course at an Australian university for the 2016 academic year.
Applications must be submitted using the Endeavour Online application system. 
Deadline for applications is 30 June 2015.
