ASEAN Leaders Fostering Program at Daejeon University in Republic of Korea, 2013/2014

ASEAN Leaders Fostering Program is an ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Project between the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and Daejeon University (DJU). The program offers 20 exchange scholarships for students from ASEAN countries to pursue undergraduate degree in the field of ICT, Social Sciences and Humanities at Daejeon University. The scholarship includes tuition fees, room and board, round-trip ticket, basic medical insurance and living allowance (USD 300 per month) for one academic year. The deadline for application submission is 5th July 2013.

Study Subject(s): The scholarships are offered in the field of ICT, Social Sciences and Humanities.

Course Level: The scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate degree at Daejeon University, the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Scholarship Provider: The project is jointly funded by the ASEAN-ROK Future Oriented Cooperation Programs Funds and Daejeon University.

Eligibility:
-
Applicant must be a citizen of ASEAN nations and currently enrolled in one of Universities in ASEAN Countries.
-Undergraduate Students in the field of ICT, Social Sciences and Humanities.
-Applicant must have the excellent academic record.(Should be in the top 10 % of their classes)
-Applicant must have a good command of written and spoken English.
- Applicant must have a good medical record.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students from ASEAN countries (Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, The Philippines and Thailand) can apply for these scholarships.

Notification: The result of the selection will be forwarded to the International Relations Office of student’s original university and be posted on AUN’s website in late July 2013.

How to apply:
-Students from AUN Member Universities may contact the international office (or other authorized bodies) of their Universities or visit AUN’s web-sites for the application package.
-Student from Non-AUN Member Universities may contact the Ministry of Education in his/her countries or visit AUN’s web-sites for the application package.
-For AUN Member Universities, after completing the application requirements, applicant shall request his/her university international office or other authorized bodies to submit the original application package (including an application form, medical questionnaire, letter of recommendation, statement of purpose to return etc.) to AUN Secretariat and send a copy of all required documents to the Daejeon University.
-For Non-AUN Member Universities, applicant may submit his/her application both directly to the AUN Secretariat and Daejon University by post without going through his/her IRO.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The deadline for application submission is 5th July 2013. (The Universities might have different deadline for their students).

■ Period and Amount of Scholarships

- For bachelor's: Up to four (five for architecture major)years
with an award of 18 million won each year per student
- For master's: Up to two (three for 3 year program) years

-AMA Scholarship offers university tuition waive, Korean language program provision,living expenses, provision of housing and flight expenses, etc.
-For the continuation of the stipend support, the selected students should maintain the academic record of B or above for each and every semesters throughout the scholarship period

■Condition of AM Scholarship

- Provision of Living Expenses: 700,000won is granted every month.
- Tuition Waive: 3,000,000won per semester is waived.
- 5 Month Korean Language Tuition Waive: 3,000,000won is provided.
- Provision of Dormitory: 390,000won per semester.
*Please note that Dormitory fee is included in the provision of living expenses.
- Travel Expenses: One round trip flight tickets.
- Cultural field trips, extracurriculum programs are all provided for the student.

■ Qualifications for the Scholarship
- Applicants recommend by the rector (president) of the university graduated or attending. or head of government-approved organizations, companies and art related institutions, etc.
- Applicants with outstanding artistic talents, gifted skills and an excellent academic record.
- Applicants recommended by the government, or ministries, or embassies of Korea or University president or head of art and culture related organization.
** Those who speak Korean language is highly preferred.

2013 WMCS Scholarships, Chosun University, Korea


Wireless and Mobile Communication System (WMCS) LAB is recruiting applicants who are interested in the admission of (MS, PhD, and integrated Master’s & PhD Program) graduate course in Korea (2013 Spring).

Wireless and Mobile Communication System (WMCS) Laboratory of Chosun university, Korea, conducts theoretical and experimental study of wireless networks and multimedia communication by integrating various kinds of  communication technologies and network protocols, and evaluating their performances. Currently, we are concerned on protocols and QoS control over wireless sensor network, wireless mesh network, mobile WiMAX, and so on.
