JAPANESE STUDIES PROGRAM

Monbukagakusho Scholarship Information
Japanese Studies Program

Registration for 2010 opened on 16 November and closed on January 29, 2010.


Japanese Studies Program is one of the Japanese Government scholarship programs (Monbukagakusho) specifically designed for students who are majoring in Japanese studies to enhance Japanese language skills and deepen understanding of Japanese culture. This program is a non-degree programs and the length is 1 year from October 2010.


REQUIREMENTS

1. Students who are still active in college at one college who studied the language, culture, and literature of Japan .
2. Age under 30 years old on April 1, 2010.
3. Students from third level up in time to apply (no exceptions for those who have the ability and recommended by the college and who have learned more than one year in college on 1 April 2010 may participate although not yet reached a level three).
4. Physical and spiritual health.


FACILITIES

1. No bond attached.
2. Return ticket economy class.
3. Free entrance exam fees, tuition and registration fee.
4. Monthly allowance of ¥ 134,000 per month (there is a possibility to change).
5 Participants provided dormitory regulated solely by payment recipients.


HOW TO APPLY:

1. Registration opened on 16 November 2010 and closed on January 29, 2010.
2. Applying carried out collectively with the recommendations of the respective universities, not the individual directly to the Embassy of Japan.
3. Completed form is returned to the Education Section Embassy of Japan with the necessary documents attached.


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
(incomplete documents will not be received)

1. Form. Write your complete address (no lodging) as well as phone numbers easily be reached on the form.
2. Passport photo (must be affixed on the form).
3. Letter from college who explained that the students concerned are those of the college. Must be equipped with information and date of birth place.
4. Letter of recommendation from the head of department or supervisor of the student personally.
5. Values from one semester to date.

* All documents written in English or Japanese. in A4 size paper


SELECTION STAGE:

1. Japanese language written test on 16 February 2010
2. For those who passed the written examination will be summoned for an interview in Jakarta.
3. For those who pass the interview will be recommended to Monbukagakusho.
4. Those who pass the selection in the Monbukagakusho will be the recipients of the scholarship.

MONBUKAGAKUSHO SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM

Registration for the departure in 2009 will be opened on 16 November and closed on January 29, 2010


Teacher Upgrading Program (Teacher Training Program) is one of the Japanese Government scholarship programs (Monbukagakusho) specifically designed for teachers to increase their teaching qualification in accordance with the teachers' field. They will be given training in how to teach, making the teaching-learning plan more effectively and attract students and other things that can increase the teachers' qualification. This program is a non-degree programs and the length of the program is 1 year 6 months (including 6-month Japanese language learning) from October 2010.


REQUIREMENTS

1. Graduates S-1 or D-4, and teachers are actively teaching in elementary, junior, senior high school (including private schools and vocational).
2. The applicant has taught more than 5 years of formal education institutions on April 1, 2010. All fields are offered except, the Indonesian language, local language, Arabic language, religious education and hospitality.
3. Age under 35 years old on April 1, 2010.
4. Physical and spiritual health. (for female applicants are not allowed in the pregnant condition)
5. Willing to learn Japanese because the language of instruction at the university is in Japanese.


FACILITIES:

1. No bond attached.
2. Economy class return ticket.
3. Free entrance exam fees, tuition and registration fee.
4 Monthly allowance of ¥ 170,000 per month (there is a possibility to change).
5. Participants will be provided a dormitory ( payment regulated by the recipients).


HOW TO APPLY:

1. Registration opened on 16 November 2009 and closed on January 29, 2010.
2. For applicants, both public and private employees can directly submit / send the completed form to the Education Section Embassy of Japan with the necessary documents attached.
3. For applicants with the status of permanent civil servants to report and submit a photocopy of the form to the Bureau of International Cooperation (BKLN) Ministry of National Education.


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
(incomplete documents will not be received)

1. Form.
2. Passport-size photograph (must be affixed on the form).
3. Copy of Diploma and transcripts.
4. Letter from the teaching Institution explaining that the applicant is a faculty member who is still actively teaching and approved this scholarship program.
5. Letter of recommendation from employers about the person of the applicant.

* All documents written in English or Japanese.


SELECTION STAGE:

1. English written test (especially for teachers of Japanese: Japanese language test) on February 16, 2010.
2. For those who passed the written examination will be summoned for an interview in Jakarta.
3. For those who pass the interview will be recommended to Monbukagakusho.
4. Those who pass the selection in the Monbukagakusho will be the recipients of the scholarships.

AUSTRALIAN LEADERSHIP AWARDS FELLOWSHIPS

The Australian Leadership Awards Fellowships are a component of a regional program that aims to develop leadership and build partnerships and linkages with developing countries.

They are intended for those who are already leaders or have the potential to assume leadership roles that can influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes.

The Australian Leadership Awards program comprises of Scholarships and Fellowships.

ALA Fellowships are for short term study, research and professional attachment programs in Australia delivered by Australian organisations.

ALA Fellowships complement the longer term ALA Scholarships providing opportunities to senior officials and mid-career professional who cannot leave their positions for extended periods.

The ALA Fellowships is a highly flexible program that offers Australian organisations opportunities to provide short term study, research and professional development activities in Australia for leaders of mid-career professionals from eligible countries.

ALA Fellowships are available across a broad range of fields relevant to Australia's foreign policy agenda or development outcomes.

Applications addressing the priority areas of disability and development, economic growth, education, environment, food security, gender, governance, health, human rights, infrastructure, regional stability, rural development and water and sanitation are particularly encouraged.

Eligibility

Australian host organisations

Applications are restricted to Australian organisations demonstrating on-going linkages with counterpart overseas organisations in eligible countries.

Australian organisations from a wide range of academic, research, business, industry, media, NGOs, professional groups and government may apply to host ALA fellows. To qualify, organisations will be required to demonstrate region-specific linkages and the relevance of the proposed programs to the priority areas.

Partner country counterpart organisations and individual fellows are not eligible to apply for support, however they may initiate contact with an Australian organisation to explore their interest in applying.

Beasiswa "ITB Untuk Semua"

Mulai tahun 2010, Beasiswa "ITB Untuk Semua" diintegrasikan ke dalam skema pemberian Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh. Program tersebut ditawarkan pada pelaksanaan PMBP-ITB 2010 di Daerah. Ketentuan yang berlaku adalah sbb:

  • Terdapat dua jenis Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh yang ditawarkan ITB pada pelaksanaan PMBP-ITB 2010, yaitu:
    • Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh
    • Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh dan Bantuan Biaya Hidup = Beasiswa “ITB Untuk Semua”
  • Kapasitas penerimaan mahasiswa dari masing-masing jenis beasiswa terbatas.

  • Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh dibuka bagi pelajar dari keluarga golongan ekonomi lemah yang merupakan:
    • Lulusan SMA IPA (bukan Ijazah persamaan) dengan tahun ijazah 2010 bagi peminat jalur ujian Sains dan Teknik.
    • Lulusan SMA IPA/IPS (bukan Ijazah persamaan) dengan tahun ijazah 2010 bagi peminat jalur ujian Bisnis dan Manajemen.
    • Lulusan SMA/SMK (bukan Ijazah persamaan) dengan tahun ijazah 2010 bagi peminat jalur ujian Seni Rupa dan Desain.
  • Kelulusan peserta PMBP-ITB 2010 kategori Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh ditentukan hasil ujian PMBP-ITB 2010 yang diikuti peserta, dengan standar kualifikasi akademik yang sama dengan peserta PMBP-ITB 2010 lainnya. ITB tidak memberi keringanan apa pun selain keringanan biaya pelaksanaan ujian dan biaya pendidikan.


Persyaratan

Syarat yang berlaku bagi calon peserta PMBP-ITB 2010 yang berminat menerima Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh adalah:

  • Formulir lamaran calon peserta PMBP-ITB kategori Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh harus dilengkapi persyaratan dokumen sebagai berikut:

    • Surat Keterangan akan mengikuti UN 2010 dari sekolah (asli). Format surat keterangan tersebut dapat diperoleh di situs resmi PMBP-ITB 2010 (lihat http://usm.itb.ac.id/ di bagian Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan)
    • Essay/karangan singkat tentang calon peserta, keluarga, cita-cita dan kegiatan calon peserta, sesuai format yang telah disediakan ITB. Format penulisan essay tersebut dapat diperoleh di situs resmi PMBP-ITB 2010 (http://usm.itb.ac.id/)
    • Surat Keterangan Penghasilan atas nama masing-masing kedua Orang Tua calon peserta PMBP-ITB, dilegalisasi oleh RT/RW
    • Keterangan Tidak Mampu dari RT/RW atas nama masing-masing kedua Orang Tua calon peserta PMBP-ITB
    • Keterangan Tidak Mampu atas nama masing-masing kedua Orang Tua calon peserta PMBP-ITB dari Dinas Sosial Daerah setempat, minimal setingkat Kecamatan
    • Kartu Keluarga Orang Tua calon peserta PMBP-ITB
    • Fotokopi KTP kedua Orang Tua calon peserta PMBP-ITB
    • Fotokopi Kartu Identitas calon peserta PMBP-ITB 2010
  • Ketidaklengkapan dan/atau kekuranganlengkapan dokumen persyaratan tersebut di atas akan menyebabkan formulir calon peserta yang bersangkutan tidak dapat diproses.

  • Bagi calon peserta yang direkomendasikan sebagai peserta PMBP-ITB 2010 kategori Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh, ITB tidak membebankan biaya ujian (biaya pelaksanaan ujian Rp.0,00).

  • Bagi peserta yang lulus pada pelaksanaan PMBP-ITB 2010 kategori Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh, beasiswa yang diberikan ITB mencakup seluruh biaya pendidikan; termasuk biaya Biaya Pendidikan di Muka (BPM), Biaya Penyelenggaraan Pendidikan (BPP) dan biaya Pendaftaran Mahasiswa Baru.

  • Khusus bagi penerima Beasiswa Biaya Pendidikan Penuh dan Bantuan Biaya Hidup (Beasiswa “ITB Untuk Semua”), selain biaya pendidikan, ITB juga memberikan bantuan biaya hidup selama peserta yang bersangkutan menempuh pendidikannya di ITB.
