Singapore Scholarship for ASEAN Countries

Applications for the Singapore Scholarship for Academic Year 2012/2013 open on 28th November 2011 and close on 23rd December 2011.
About the scholarship:
·         Application for the Singapore Scholarship must be submitted on the prescribed application form (The application form and supporting documents must be of A4 size and printed on one side only). Please contact the Singapore Embassy/ High Commission/Consulate-General in your capital city for a copy of the Singapore Scholarship brochure and application form. For Indonesian applicants, please click here for for a softcopy of the application form for AY 11/12.
·         Applicants will be required to submit a typed-written essay of about 300-500 words. The essay is an important part of your application.
·         All supporting documents have to be attached. Those supporting documents that are not in English must have a certified translation in English. Translation and certification of transcripts and academic records have to be done by your educational institutions.
·         Applications must be endorsed and submitted by their respective ASEAN Governments. The relevant agencies to endorse the application in Indonesia is:

Who is eligible to apply?

Citizens of ASEAN member countries (except Singapore) are eligible to apply for the Singapore Scholarship.

Candidates must have an outstanding academic record, a good command of English and meet the entry requirements for NTU, NUS and SMU.

- completed Indonesia SMU Ujian Akhir Nasional (UAN) with excellent academic results
- currently undergoing 1st year of undergraduate studies in a local Indonesian university is preferred.

The British Chevening Awards programme 2012/ 2013

Chevening Scholarship Applications 2012/13 Are Now Open

The British Chevening Awards programme, funded by the British Government (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) and administered by the British Council, has awarded over 1000 scholarship and fellowships to Indonesians since 1984.
Full scholarships are offered for one year Master degrees at United Kingdom universities and other professional institutions.  The scholarships would cover living costs, tuition fees and return airfares.
The deadline for applications for 2012/13 Chevening Scholarships in Indonesia and East Timor is 15 January 2012.

Community College Summit Initiative Program, American Indonesian Exchange Foundation, USA


This international educational exchange program enables individuals to study at a community college in the United States to develop professional skills.
Eligible fields are Business Management and Administration; Tourism and Hospitality Management; Health Professions, including Nursing; MediaInformation TechnologyAgriculture; and EngineeringScience.
ELIGIBILITY
To apply to the program, candidates must:
  • Have completed a secondary school education; D1, D2, D3 and S1
  • Preference will be given to High School Diploma
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree are eligible if they are applying in a field different from the field of their degree and have relevant work experience in the field for which they are applying.
  • Applicants with MA or PhD degrees are not eligible to participate.
  • Have relevant work experience in the field in which they are applying;
  • Have English language skills that provide a basis for enrolling in academic coursework;
  • Submit a complete application;
  • Minimum Institutional TOEFL score 500 or TOEIC score 650 atau IELTS 5.0 (only scores less than 2 years old are valid).
U.S. PROGRAM
The Community College Summit Initiative Program will provide funding for round-trip airfare to the U.S.; a living allowance during English language, academic, and practical training program components; tuition costs; health insurance; and cultural enhancement activities. Students will be hosted in groups by community colleges competitively selected to participate in the program. Students are required to return home at the end of their program and may not transfer to a four-year U.S. academic institution.

AAHPM and HPNA Annual Assembly
Denver, Colorado, USA  March 7-10, 2012

The Developing Countries Scholarship Fund was established to provide access to quality education for physicians who reside in developing countries to attend the AAHPM and HPNA Annual Assembly in Vancouver. This scholarship program will provide financial support (up to $5,000) to physicians to learn the latest clinical information and research updates in hospice and palliative care from leading experts in the field.

This scholarship program is intended to facilitate Annual Assembly participation and cover ordinary costs associated with meeting registration, travel-related expenses (air fare, cab fare, meals), and  lodging.

Eligibility
Scholarships are available to physicians who reside in a developing country (as defined by the World Health Organization) and care for seriously ill patients. Preference will be given to applicants who are
  • members of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine AAHPM (free virtual membership is available to physicians who reside in a nation on the HINARI list of eligible countries)
  • have not previously attended the Annual Assembly
  • are junior in their career, and
  • whose organizations are considered least able to afford this opportunity.

INDONESIA ENGLISH LANGUAGE STUDY PROGRAM (IELSP)



IIEF holds an Indonesia English Language Study Program (IELSP). It is a program that offers a chance to enroll in English Language Courses at prominent universities in the United States for a period of 8 (eight) weeks.

The goal of this program is to improve the ability of participant’s English language, especially in English for Academic Purposes. Other than that, participants will have the chance to learn intimately the people and culture of the United States. IELSP participants will join the immersion program where they will mix with other participants from other nations and countries. Within this program, participants will not only learn the English language, but they will also join various cultural programs that will enrich their experience.

General Requirement
  • Participant age must be 19 – 24 years old. Participant must be an active students for bachelor degree in their 5th semester above at any universities all over Indonesia and have not yet declared pass or in the course of degree completion.
  • Participant must have posses good ability in the English language with a good TOEFL® International or TOEFL® ITP with a minimum 450 (not a Prediction Test)
  • Participant must also have good academic achievement Active in lots of activities and organization
  • Have full commitment to return back to Indonesia after completing this program.
  • Do not have experience of previous study in USA or other countries except Indonesia
  • Possesses these personal qualities: active, independent, responsible, confident and open minded
  • Master the skills for computer

CIMB Regional Scholarship for Southeast Asian Countries

ELIGIBILITY & SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE
 
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • A citizen of any Southeast Asia country
  • Have gained acceptance at a top graduate school to pursue postgraduate degree programme in the fields of study offered at the time when the CIMB Regional Scholarship is awarded
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree with minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 or equivalent (for Master's Degree applicants), or a Master's Degree with good examiner's report or equivalent (for Doctoral Degree applicants) that is relevant to the course or field applied for
  • Do not hold any other scholarships, awards or grants that come with any contractual obligation between the recipient and the provider
Relevant work experience, where applicable, is an added advantage.
This is a full scholarship award covering all academic fees such as registration and examination fees, book allowance, as well as other expenses such as accommodation, airfare, travel documents, etc.

SELECTION PROCESS
 
Only shortlisted candidates will be notified for further assessment and / or interview. The assessment process shall comprise of 3 stages as follows:
Stage 1
Applicants will be screened to ensure that they meet all eligibility criteria, and shortlisted based on the following pre-selection criteria.
  • Academic or career and other relevant achievements where applicable
  • Postgraduate programme applied; whether the knowledge gained will significantly benefit Southeast Asia region
  • University of study; whether it is one of the top graduate schools in the world for the field of study applied
  • Applicant's personal statement on how they plan to contribute to Southeast Asia region after completion of studies

Stage 2
Applicants will need to go through several online assessments.
Stage 3

Xiamen University ( China ) Scholarship 2011



1.Introduction
The University offers scholarships for excellent applicants The recipients will have their tuition fees covered, up to a maximum of 3 years for a PhD, 2 -3 years for a Master degree and 4-5 years for a Bachelor degree. The recipients' academic performance will be assessed each year and only those achieving the required standard will have their scholarship renewed for the following year.

Minamas - Yayasan Sime Darby Undergraduate Scholarship Programme (Local)

This undergraduate scholarship offer is open to Public (external candidates)

Minimum Requirements

  • Indonesian citizen
  • Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) ≥ 3.00 (on scale 4.00). 
  • Currently enrolled in the recommended field of study stated below
  • Candidates has finished at least 3 (three) semesters (proven by IPK result)
  • Possess good personalities, in good health condition and free from any drug substances addiction
  • Currently not receiving scholarships from any institution or willing to release it upon acceptance

UNESCO/Republic of Korea Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme

In line with the strategy and objectives approved in 34 C/5 for UNESCO’s Fellowship Programme in application of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by UNESCO and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in 2010, the Government of the Republic of Korea is offering thirty (30) fellowships of no more than two months’ duration. The medium of instruction is English. 

Aimed at enhancing human resources and national capacity-building in least developed countries (LDCs) in Africa, Asia and the Pacific Regions, these fellowships will enable candidates to conduct research work or participate in a training course in the Republic of Korea. Given that UNESCO and the Government of the Republic of Korea grant priority to gender equality, special attention will be given to women's candidatures. English is the medium of instruction.


FIELD OF STUDY: EDUCATION 

Course Title:

• Teacher Training in Basic Education
• Use of ICT for Education (or e-Learning); and
• Leadership in Global Education

The field of study is aligned with UNESCO’s objectives and programme priorities approved in 34 C/5 and in accordance with the decision made by the Executive Board (i.e. 161 EX/Decision 3.6.3 and 165 EX/Decision 8.6).

DURATION

23 June 2011 - 22 August 2011 (61 days) 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 

UNESCO will solicit applications from least developed countries (LDCs) in Africa and Asia and the Pacific regions (see Annex I of the announcement letter).

A. Candidatures must comply with the following criteria:

a) Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree
b) Candidates must be proficient in English
c) Candidates must not be more than 50 years of age
d) Candidates must be in good health, both mentally and physically
e) Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years career in the field of Education with practical experience in the specific areas, namely: teaching/schooling, educational policy-making, development of curriculum (i.e., educational material, course of study, etc.)
 


B. All applications must be endorsed by the National Commission for UNESCO of invited Member States and must be made on a UNESCO fellowship application form 

C. The implementing agency in the Republic of Korea will be the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU).

D. The following documents must be attached to the application form in duplicate:

a) Photocopies of diplomas and school-certified transcript of academic records;
b) Certificate of English Language Proficiency by an official authority (if English is not the medium of instruction in the home country); and
c) Two photographs

E. Each invited Member State will be requested to nominate (not more than) two (2) candidates.

F. National Commissions of invited Member States are requested to submit the applications /candidatures along with ALL supporting documentation. Files which are incomplete or received after the deadline for submission of applications/candidatures, or do not fulfill the above-mentioned requirements, will not be taken into consideration.

G. UNESCO will submit the pre-selected applications to KOICA and APCEIU for final selection with copy to the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Korea to UNESCO. It is understood that KOICA will cooperate with APCEIU in the evaluation and approval of these files during the final selection.

SELECTION OF BENEFICIARIES 

1. The final selection of beneficiaries lies with KOICA and APCEIU.

2. Candidates not informed of their selection by 25 April 2011 should consider that the donor Government has not approved their applications.

FACILITIES OFFERED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA

1. Beneficiaries of these fellowships will be exempt from tuition fees for the duration of study/training programme.

2. Fellows will undertake studies/training under the supervision of an advisor or a study director designated by the host institution.

3. The donor Government will pay stipends to beneficiaries on a monthly basis, in local currency. The stipends are intended to cover the cost towards living expenses such as accommodation, meals, pocket expenses, and incidentals.

4. The donor will determine the stipend amount to be granted to beneficiaries.

5. The donor Government will offer the health insurance.

FACILITIES OFFERED BY UNESCO

1. UNESCO will cover the cost of airfare to and from Seoul and a one-time travel allowance amounting to US $200 per beneficiary.

OTHER CONDITIONS 

1. No provision to finance or lodge beneficiary’s’ family members can be made.

2. A comprehensive final report, co-signed by beneficiaries’ advisors or study/training directors should be communicated to UNESCO with copy to KOICA and APCEIU not later than one (1) month after completion of training.

FULBRIGHT MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAM

Preference will be given to applicants who serve as faculty members of state and private institutions of higher education in Indonesia. However, others who are not lecturers may apply. 
Applicants will possess:
  • a Bachelor (S1) degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.00 scale)
  • leadership qualities
  • a good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures 
  • demonstrated commitment to the chosen field of study
  • a willingness to return to Indonesia upon completion of the Fulbright program
  • a minimum institutional TOEFL score of 550 or IELTS score of 6.0
DISCIPLINES

All disciplines and fields of study are eligible for a Fulbright award. The fields of study covered by the Fulbright scholarship program in the past were limited to the Social Sciences and Humanities.  Since 2004, however, the policy has been changed to include also other disciplines with the exception of fields related to patient care or medical training nor to continue their study at medical school.
