ASEAN Leaders Fostering Program at Daejeon University in Republic of Korea, 2013/2014
ASEAN Leaders Fostering Program is an ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Project between the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and Daejeon University (DJU). The program offers 20 exchange scholarships for students from ASEAN countries to pursue undergraduate degree in the field of ICT, Social Sciences and Humanities at Daejeon University. The scholarship includes tuition fees, room and board, round-trip ticket, basic medical insurance and living allowance (USD 300 per month) for one academic year. The deadline for application submission is 5th July 2013.
Study Subject(s): The scholarships are offered in the field of ICT, Social Sciences and Humanities.
Course Level: The scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate degree at Daejeon University, the Republic of Korea (ROK).

INTERNATIONAL HOTEL MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP IN BALI
Stenden University Bali offers scholarships for Indonesian students with outstanding study results and a strong interest in hospitality management.
The scholarships are offered for September 2013 intake, with provisions of: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% (full) discount of tuition fees depending on the candidate’s academic achievement, motivation and extra-curricular activities. The above mentioned tuition fees include studying and accommodation for one year in the Netherlands as well as return flight ticket equating up to USD 35,000 in saving over four years.
- Must be an Indonesian citizen.
- Must be in year 12 or graduated from high school no later than 2010.
- Must have outstanding study results from high school (above average).
- Must be highly motivated to study International Hospitality Management at Stenden University Bali.
How to apply
- A completed and signed Application Form.
- Candidates who are in their year 12 must submit high school transcripts of year 10, 11 and semester 1 of year 12. The transcripts must showcase study results which are above high school average.
- Candidates who already graduated from high school must submit complete transcripts of year 10, 11 and 12 and a copy of certified final transcript (UAN or other equivalent final year transcript depending on the school’s curriculum) as well as a copy of certified high school diploma. The motivation letter can be up to 1500 words and will serve as a true representation of the candidate’s motivation, but also of the candidate’s best writing by taking into account level of English, content of the letter, writing style, structure of the letter and argumentation.
- One recommendation letter of a teacher or school principal demonstrating candidate’s academic competence as well as good character and motivation.
- One recommendation letter from a non-academic reference, e.g. company, organization, etc.
- Academic awards, certificates of extra courses or other proofs of achievements.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English, containing information about study, work and other (relevant) activities.
- One passport sized (4x6) coloured photo.
- Copy of KTP or passport.

Undergraduate Mitsui-Bussan Scholarship Program 2013 for Indonesian students
MITSUI-BUSSAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR INDONESIA PROSPECTUS FOR 2013 IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND CULTURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA AND PERSADA
1. Outline and Objectives of Mitsui-Bussan Scholarship Program for Indonesia
The MITSUI-BUSSAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR INDONESIA (hereinafter referred to as “the Program”) was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1992 as a non-profit foundation under the approval of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (formerly called the. Ministry of Education) Japan based on a fund prepared by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. The Program aims to encourage Indonesian students who wish to study at universities in Japan and obtain a bachelor’s degree thereby.
The MITSUI-BUSSAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR INDONESIA (hereinafter referred to as “the Program”) was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1992 as a non-profit foundation under the approval of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (formerly called the. The objective of the Program is to support and assist the students so that:
- Firstly, the students can learn about and become intimate with Japanese culture and customs.
- Secondly, the students can develop an international sensibility through daily life in Japan. Consequently, the students can make their best efforts in their respective fields so as to contribute to the development of Indonesia after finishing their studies in Japan, calling upon their experience of living and studying in Japan.
Therefore, the grantees who have completed their studies in Japan under the Program will be requested to make their utmost effort to materialize the Program’s objectives; however, the grantees will be entirely free from any other obligations and duties.
2. Qualifications
- Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Indonesia.
- Age: Applicants must be less than twenty (20) years of age as of April 12th, 2013 and unmarried. The grantees must remain single during the tenure of their scholarship period.
- Academic Background and School Records: Applicants must have completed SMA (Senior High School) of IPA or IPS course with marks of at least seven (7) or higher on their school records for the following subjects, throughout the whole SMA study period of 3 years:
- For IPA course: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English.
- For IPS course: Mathematics, Economics, Geography and English.
- Japanese Language: Applicants must be willing to study the Japanese language and to receive university education in the Japanese language in Japan.
- Health: Applicants must be healthy, both mentally and physically, and have no infectious diseases.
3. Fields of Study
- Study of Sciences and Engineering (4-years under-graduate course), such as:
- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Information & Computer Science, Biology, Biophysics & Biochemistry, Geology, etc.
- Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Engineering, Environmental Engineering, etc.
- Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, etc.
- Ship Building & Ocean Engineering, Aeronautics, etc.
- Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information & Communication Engineering, etc.
- Metallurgy, Materials Science, etc.
- Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc.
- Industrial Engineering, Factory & Production Management, Plant Management, etc.
- Agricultural Engineering, Forest & Fishery Science, Agricultural Chemistry, Agro biology, Food Engineering, etc.
- Due to course term reason, applicants can not choose Medical science,Pharmaceutical science and Veterinary science as field of study.
- Study of Social Sciences, Business and Commerce (4-years under-graduate course), such as;
- Civil Law, Public Law, Political Science, etc.
- Economic Theory, Economic History, Economic Policy, etc.
- Enterprise Management, Accounting, Commerce & Marketing, Finance, Insurance, Industrial Relations, Econometrics, International Economics, etc.
4. Tenure of Scholarship
Grants are tenable for five years and six months (5.5 years) from October 2013 until March 2019, i.e.

- Japanese language study is scheduled to be conducted at Tokyo Japanese Language Education Center of Independent Administrative Institution Japan Student Services Organization, Tokyo, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “Japanese Language Center”).
- Entrance to and graduation from universities in Japan can only be achieved by the efforts and endeavor of the grantees.
5. Benefits Provided by the Program
Grantees shall be provided with the following allowances and expenses by the Program for only support of the grantees’ life and studies in Japan.

- Living Allowance; The sum of 145,000 Japanese yen per month will be given to each grantee during the tenure of the scholarship.
- Transportation Charge:
- Transportation from Indonesia to Japan: An economy class one-way air ticket from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to New Tokyo International Airport will be given to each grantee before departure.
- Transportation from Japan to Indonesia: An economy class one-way air ticket from New Tokyo International Airport to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will be given to each grantee who will return to Indonesia, upon submitting an application, within 1 (one) year after the expiration of the scholarship provision.
- Arrival Allowance: The sum of 50,000 Japanese yen will be given to each grantee on arrival in Japan.
- School Fees: Fees for the entrance examination and tuition at the Japanese Language Center as well as at universities will be borne by the Program.
- Accommodations, Meals, Local Transportation, and Other Costs and Expenses:
- For the first one and half years during the period of study of the Japanese language, grantees shall reside at the dormitory of the Japanese Language Center, or a similar place designated by the Program. The cost of such accommodations shall be borne by the grantees. The Program shall provide a lodging subsidy of 5,000 Japanese yen per month per person to the grantees.
- During the period of study at universities, grantees shall reside at university dormitories, private boarding houses, or apartment houses, any of which shall be approved by the Program. The cost of such accommodations shall be borne by the grantees. Any necessary key money and/or deposit money shall be borne by the Program. The Program shall provide a lodging subsidy of 25,000 Japanese yen per month per person to the grantees.
- The cost of textbooks necessary for the curriculum at Japanese Language Center and/or universities in Japan approved by the Program shall be borne by the Program.
- Meals, local transportation charges, and other expenses shall be borne by the grantees.
- Insurance; The Program shall prepare life insurance, aviation insurance, and accident insurance for the grantees during the period of Scholarship. (National health insurance premium in Japan shall be borne by the grantees.)

7. Placement at Universities in Japan and Major Fields of Study
- Placement of grantees at universities and in their major fields of study in Japan shall be finally approved by the Program after taking the grantees’ wishes and related records into consideration, before grantees take the entrance examinations of the universities.
- Change of major field of study will not be allowed.
8. Notes
- A grantee shall be deprived of his/her scholarship and required to return to Indonesia in any of the following cases:
- A false statement has been made on the application dossier.
- Any article of the grantee’s pledge to the Program is violated.
- The grantee faces difficulty in continuation of his/her studies due to health reasons.
- The grantee violates rules and regulations of the Japanese Language Center and/or universities as well as laws and regulations of Japan.
- The grantee has no promise for academic achievement within the designated period (e.g., failure to achieve a satisfactory level in the Japanese language or in his/her major subject).
- Entrance to and graduation from universities in Japan can only be achieved by the efforts and endeavor of the grantee himself/herself, and the Program is not in a position to guarantee entrance and graduation, although the utmost support and assistance will be given.
